Tescom introduce specialised millimetre wave shield box to meet growing demand for high frequency test equipment

With millimetre wave applications becoming less specialised and more mainstream, there is a growing need for test and measurement equipment to meet this increased demand.

Millimetre wave applications which have shown rapid growth include 802.11ad, WiGig, automotive radar and healthcare. The new 5G infrastructure applications will also extend into the mmW bands as much more spectrum is available.

In response to this Tescom have introduced a new shielded box specifically for testing mmWave devices, the TC-5570.

The TC-5570 is a large shield box with inside dimensions of 803(w)x 762(D)x644(H)mm, giving the flexibility to test devices of varying sizes. The box features reliable high RF shielding from 26 GHz to 67 GHz in excess of 60dB and EMI filters are included on all data ports.

Tescom shield boxes give you the flexibility to choose up to 4 standard or customisable data connections as there is a choice of pre-configured I/O interface panels or you can customise an I/O interface panel to your own specifications. The TC-5570 also is fitted with lockable wheels which allows you to easily move it around the lab to each test station.
